Hello Everyone,
First I know I have not been communicating with many people and not on the
air much these past few weeks. However we are only days away from Field
Day and I would like to get information out and see what the member’s plans
are. As you’re aware with the Cov-19 still going on ARRL have change rules
for this year.
Members working from home station now can count another home station for
points, so a D station QSo’s with another D station counts.
*Field Day rule 4.6* <http://www.arrl.org/field-day-rules#classd> defines
Class D stations as “Home stations,” including stations operating from
permanent or licensed station locations using commercial power. Class D
stations ordinarily may only count contacts made with Class A, B, C, E, and
F Field Day stations, but the temporary rule waiver for 2020 allows Class D
stations to count contacts with other Class D stations for QSO credit.
Also all members from a CLUB can submit their logs for a combination for
the club.
Ordinarily, club names are only published in the results for Class A and
Class F entries, but the temporary rule waiver for 2020 allows participants
from *any Class* <http://www.arrl.org/field-day-rules#class> to optionally
include a single club name with their submitted results following Field Day.
Hiram from his Class D home station, and Becky from her Class C mobile
station — both can include the radio club’s name when reporting their
individual results. The published results listing will include individual
scores for Hiram and Becky,
Thus allowing the club still to report number’s of contacts during Field
Day, for an overall score. This should increase the number of overall
contacts by each club.
Remember the Band Mode:
Bands: 160, 80, 40, 20,15 and 10 Meter HF bands, as well as all bands 50
MHz and above, All modes.
Thus 2 & 70 meters also count’s as long as it’s not done by repeater.
I know that this year will be very different, and at the same time offers
new options. I hope you will get on the air and make some contacts and
submit them for yourself as well as the club. I personally will have my
station up and running working all bands I can as a General operator HF,
VHF, and UHF. I will be working both Digital and Voice, so please keep a
look out for KD2DVC.
For more information on rules please check out http://www.arrl.org/field-day
